Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation)
In Yoga Nidra (as Taught by Swami Satchidananda), the body, mind, and intellect are completely relaxed and one appears to be sleeping but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level. In this practice, you are gently guided through four main stages of brain wave activity – beta, alpha, theta, and delta as you move through the five koshas — the five bodies of awareness. In this class, you’ll build a deeper connection between mind and body. Ease ongoing stress and anxiety, and feel your body melt away into a soothing state of being. In recent research, students who followed a month-long yoga nidra practice reported it helped them to better regulate their nervous system, improved their overall sense of happiness, alertness, anger control, and self-confidence.
