Voice Releasing Hatha Yoga
In this Mixed Hatha Flow class, making audible sounds and releasing your voice is highly recommended and welcomed. Whether it’s a deep sign, grunt, squeal, moan, or scream it does not matter. This is your unique practice of a journey inward and what matters is the experience you are creating for you. So fully express yourself, allow your voice to be heard and don’t care what other people think.
Making these types of noises connects you to the present moment and encourages deeper diaphragm breathing. This is important because as the focus draws to the exhale, it promotes the release of anxiety, toxins, pent-up emotions, stuck energy, stress, and more. Allowing your body to release through sound and breath is clearing your system. Your yoga is a place of acceptance, non-judgment, self exploration and expression. Enjoy it and don’t take it too seriously.
The goal of this class is not about touching your toes or getting into the perfect asana. But to deeply stretch to calm the nervous system by bringing awareness into the sensations in your own body. In this practice, we utilize techniques that connect voice, body and spirit. The focus is on drawing the mind inward and becoming aware of the sensation that each stretch produces. Moving between states of expansion and contraction.
